Being an immigrant in Hawaii, I am drawn to the stories of transition. How long does it take for one's spirit to settle down in a new land with new families and friends? 靈(Spirit) and 零(Zero) have the same pronunciation {ling4} in Chinese. When I ponder about the essence of spiritual distance and zero distance, a question for humanity springs forth: can two persons be physically so close but yet distant in spirits and vice versa?
